This is a list of alternate universes in the 1995 TV series Sliders.
Season 1[edit | edit source]
Sliders episodes 1 and 2: "Pilot"[edit | edit source]
- The original Earth that is the Sliders' home (later revealed to be named Earth Prime).
- Some unidentified Earths where Quinn's paper airplane, Rubik's cube, and toy dinosaur disappear, as well as another unidentified Earth where Quinn's basketball goes and returns.
- The first alternate Earth that Quinn is seen visiting. In this alternate Earth:
- the temperature is decreasing due to "global cooling"
- the green and red traffic lights have their meanings reversed (green means "stop" and red means "go")
- CDs are not selling anymore because people prefer to buy LPs
- Jack Kennedy and Marylin Monroe are still alive and implied to be married to each other
- Mexico is said to have better jobs and a better standard of living than the United States, and the Mexican government is complaining about American people crossing the border illegally to live in Mexico
- Amanda (Quinn's mother) is pregnant and married to Jake (their gardener)
- Some version of Quinn is implied to exist in this Earth because his mother knows him, but this alternate Quinn is not seen
- The Earth where an alternate version of Quinn Mallory was able to invent sliding months before Earth Prime's Quinn. This alternate Quinn has been married for two years.
- Seven Earths that were visited by the alternate Quinn mentioned above. He mentions that the visit to Earth Prime was his eight slide.
- In one of these Earths, the Cubs have won three straight World Series.
- In one of these Earths, there is no pollution, crime, or hate; people were happy and not afraid, and a stranger was welcome with love. The alternate Quinn has spent twenty hours in that world, and hopes to find it again.
- The alternate Quinn says that Michael Hurley (Quinn's boss in Earth Prime) is a "putz" in all Earths he has been to.
- It is mentioned that possibly hundreds or thousands of alternate Earths exist.
- The first alternate Earth that the Sliders (Quinn Mallory, Wade Welles, Rembrandt Brown, and Maximilian Arturo) visit together. This world is frozen and covered with snow, possibly due to some sort of ecological disaster. The frozen buildings of San Francisco are seen, but no people are found. A photo of Quinn's family from this world is seen, including a woman that is possibly the sister that he never had in Earth Prime; the dog Bopper is also seen in the photo, even though he ran away as a puppy in Earth Prime. The Sliders leave this world to run away from a hurricane.
- A world where Soviet Union conquered the United States. The American government is a dictatorship, while some rebels plan to form a revolution and overthrow the government. In this Earth, Wade Wells is a revolutionary leader, Maximilian Arturo works for the government by running a prison with political prisoners, and Rembrandt Brown was killed 12 years before in the Detroit Uprising.
- A world that seems almost identical to Earth Prime, except Michael Mallory (Quinn's father) is still alive. An alternate Quinn is implied to live in this world, but he is not seen.
- Quinn guesses that some worlds may have outlawed wars or cured cancer, while Arturo guesses that some other worlds may have perfected war and developed new cancers.
Sliders episode 3: "Fever"[edit | edit source]
- A world where large quantities of oil have been found in San Francisco. As a result, the citizens are rich and having a party. The alternate Quinn living on this Earth is a millionaire because some of that oil was found on his backyard.
- A world with a pandemic outbreak of the Q disease, whose symptoms include pain, yellow skin, and eventually hallucinations. Sick people seem to be often taken by the authorities so that they won't infect others. The disease was named after the first patient, the alternate Quinn Mallory from this world.
- A world where the Sliders seem to be in danger of being attacked by cannibals.
Sliders episode 4: "Last Days"[edit | edit source]
- A world where an asteroid is on its way to hit Earth and destroy the world.
Sliders episode 5: "Prince of Wails"[edit | edit source]
- A world where San Francisco is submerged in water.
- A world where the United States lost the Revolutionary War. As a result, it is named "British States of America" and is ruled by the British monarchy. The alternate Maximilian Arturo is an evil sheriff in this world.
Sliders episode 6: "Summer of Love"[edit | edit source]
- A world where San Francisco has been evacuated because a large swarm of "spiderwasps" is going there, after having caused destruction and death on their path.
- A world where the United States has been at war with Australia, and some young people that appear to be hippies have been protesting against that war. Wade and Rembrandt are worshipped by some of these young people, who saw them arriving from the portal. In this world, Pete Wilson is the governor, but Oliver North is the president. The alternate Rembrandt Brown married his high school sweetheart Sharon and was presumed dead at the war. Rembrandt from Earth Prime tried to take his place with her, but was chased away after it was discovered that the Rembrandt from this world is actually still alive.
- A world where San Francisco appears to be about to be destroyed by a tsunami.
Sliders episode 7: "Eggheads"[edit | edit source]
- A world where intellectuals are celebrities. There is a sport named Mindgame where players need to pass a ball and also answer questions. The alternate Quinn Malory plays this game and is known to slide between universes as well. He slid away from this universe because of his gambling debts. The Maxilian Arturo from this world married Christina Fox (her Earth Prime version died at some point) but she divorced him.
Sliders episode 8: "The Weaker Sex"[edit | edit source]
- A world where women have superior social status than men. Women can hold political office, have leadership positions in companies, serve in the military, etc. Hillary Clinton is the president, and the Pope is a woman as well. Men do not have many job opportunities besides domestic work, teaching children, and serving coffee. Maximilian Arturo runs for office as a mayor, despite a male mayor being unheard of in this world
- A world where the Sliders are on vacation at the beach.
Sliders episode 9: "The King Is Back"[edit | edit source]
- A world where spray painting public property is a crime punishable by death. Quinn Mallory is sentenced to death after his fingerprints were found at the scene of the crime, which may imply that the alternate Quinn Mallory from this world is the one that was actually spray painting.
- A world where Rembrandt Brown is a big celebrity that presumably died, and people try to imitate him.
- A world where Rembrandt and Arturo are seen selling ice cream, and they may eat ice cream for free as well.
- A world where people receive free money, as much as they want. However, there is also a lottery in which people are chosen to die in order to prevent overpopulation. The more money they have received, the greater their chance to be chosen to die in the lottery.
- A world where the Sliders arrived after the previous world. This world was shortly seen and the details are unknown.
