This is a list of characters that save the world at some point.

Introduced in the 1930s

• Bugs Bunny stops Marvin the Martian from blowing up the Earth (Looney Tunes; this happens in the 1948 animated short Haredevil Hare )

Introduced in the 1990s

• Korben Dallas and Leeloo (The Fifth Element)

Introduced in the 2000s

• Brendan or May (the player character) saves the world from Kyogre's heavy rain and/or Groudon's harsh sunlight (Pokémon Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, Omega Ruby, and Alpha Sapphire)
• Susan Murphy / Ginormica, B.O.B, Dr. Cockroach, Missing Link, and Insectosaurus save the world from the alien Gallaxhar (Monsters vs. Aliens)

Introduced in the 2010s

• Galo Thymos and Lio Fotia save the world from destruction and stop Kray Foresight from killing the Burnish (Promare)
• Multiple players saving the world in multiple games ("The World Is Saved" song)
• Summer Smith saves the planet Ferkus 9 in the episode "A Rickconvenient Mort" (Rick and Morty)
